Cardinal Leo's Visit to Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary Marks End of Academic Year

On Friday, May 22, on the liturgical memorial of St. Rita of Cascia, His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo visited the Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary of the Archdiocese of Toronto. This was the Cardinal's second visit to the seminary this year.

The visit marked the end of the academic year, as all the exams – both in philosophy and theology – are now over. The evening consisted of the Eucharistic celebration and a dinner together. It was a chance to thank God for another year of formation and asking Him for His blessing upon the seminarians who during the summer will be leaving for a missionary experience in various countries: Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. 

The Cardinal had a chance to ask the seminarians about the most impactful events of the past year and assured them of his closeness and prayers for a safe summer. 

The seminarians and formators are very grateful for the visit of His Eminence and look forward to welcoming next month the new rector, Fr. Jorge Lopez, who was appointed to replace Fr. Tomasz Skibinski.
