ShareLife Grant to Community Bread

SHARELIFE: COMBATING HUNGER THROUGH YOUR COMPASSION

The Archdiocese of Toronto announced on September 6, 2023, that ShareLife is committing over a half million dollars to the fight against hunger through Food Security Grants.

The funding consists of three pillars:

• $250,000 in new funding to the Societyof Saint Vincent de Paul Toronto Central Council, which will distribute grants to parish-based food banks and meal programs, like our own Community Bread.

• $150,000 in new funding to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto, for agency-run food programs. 

• $120,000 already allocated to Catholic Charities for food-related programs through its member agencies.

Community Bread applied for a grant, and we are happy to announce that ShareLife, through the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Toronto Central Council, has granted us $17,000 in funding.

We are thankful for this generous donation. You can see your ShareLife donations at work in the local community, which encourages us to continue our ShareLife Campaign.

Our goal is $113,000 and we are at $81,137.53.

After the pandemic, the ShareLife Campaign runs until the end of the year.
