Ministry of the Word

Ministers of the Word (Lectors)

Have you ever felt called to share God's Word with others? As a Minister of the Word, also known as a Lector, you play an important role in the celebration of the Mass by proclaiming the Scripture readings and helping bring God's message to life for the parish community.

Through the Ministry of the Word, you take an active part in the liturgy, prayerfully preparing and proclaiming the Word of God so that it may be heard, understood, and received by all who gather for worship. This ministry is both a service to the parish and an opportunity for personal spiritual growth. Many lectors find that preparing the readings deepens their own understanding of Sacred Scripture and strengthens their relationship with Christ.

The time commitment is minimal. On average, lectors are scheduled to serve at one Mass per month, making this ministry a meaningful and manageable way to become more involved in parish life.

When you join the Ministry of the Word, you become part of a welcoming, collaborative, and supportive group of parishioners dedicated to serving God and our community.

If you enjoy reading, are comfortable speaking in front of others, and feel called to share God's Word, we warmly invite you to consider becoming a Minister of the Word.
